Reliability

We have to learn to believe what God says above what we feel.
Stop bowing down to your feelings and letting them rule you.
Joyce Meyer

Feelings seem so real, because we actually feel them.  But feelings are produced for a variety of reasons: diet, chemical balance/imbalance, circumstances, interactions with people, disappointments, surprises..... etc.  Considering all that makes up our feelings, it stands to reason that they are mostly unreliable when using them to make reliable decisions.  They rise and fall with the tide of everything.  God in Christ doesn't.

Hebrews 13:8 says: Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
God does not change and His word does not change.  No matter what happens or what we feel, it will never alter Christ or the Word of God.  Realizing this, we can either choose to dwell on and react to our feelings or dwell on God's Word and act upon what He says, in spite of our feelings.  The first choice will leave us confused and wandering.  The second choice will give us peace and direction.

Have a very blessed day :)

He Understands

God already knows how we feel and what we think, but actually going to Him with our thoughts and feelings, opens the lines of communication with Him, not just having thoughts about Him.  God created us in His image and He has feelings too.  He grieves when we are afraid to open up to Him and tell him what is on our minds.  He made us specifically to communicate with Him.  It's like being a parent and seeing your child suffer in silence.  You completely understand what he is going through, because you've been there, done that.  Of course you approach him, telling him you understand and ask what's wrong, but until your child willingly opens up to you, the lines of communication are stifled.  It hurts us deeply to feel like our children don't not trust us enough to just come to us.
This is how God feels.

1 Peter 5:6,7 says:
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand,
that He may lift you up in due time.
Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for YOU.

All He asks is that we not be afraid to humble ourselves, or reluctant, to pour out our hearts, that He already knows, to Him.
He understands and will lift us up :)

Have a very blessed day, knowing you are loved,
Lynne :)

THIS is the Day

THIS is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

THIS is the only day we have.  Yesterday is gone and tomorrow will never be.  ALL we can possibly live in is TODAY!  God tells us to rejoice in this day.  Some of us find it difficult to rejoice for all that is going on in our lives, or around us.  But, as long as we have breath in our bodies and God is GOD, nothing is impossible and the possibilities are endless.  Rejoicing in THIS day, puts our faith squarely in God and not in what is around us.  Rejoicing frees us up to be all we are meant to be today.  On the other hand, despairing and dwelling on those things around us that would want to get us down, depletes our energy, faith and drives a wedge in our relationship with God.
Surely God is greater than all things and anything.  He made the universe and the orbiting planets.  He made vibrant, organized life in a blade of grass.  He created our brains so that we can see images of memories, even when they are not before us.  He lets us remember the difference between the taste of a hamburger and taco, when deciding what to order on a menu.  What a marvelous thought, that we can see things that are not in front of us and taste what is not in our mouths. What can't God do?
Determining to keep our focus on the God who created all this and everything else, keeps us wide open to His impossible possibilities.  He simply tells us to rejoice in today, by placing our faith in HIM.  Doing so, sets us free to enjoy HIM, while He works all things together for our good and His glory, ( Romans 8:28).

If God is for us, who can be against us?  He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all - how will He not also, along with Him graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:31,32

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
Romans 8:37

And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19

God bless you all Today,
Lynne :)

Simply Know HIM

I waited patiently for the Lord; He turned to me and heard my cry.  He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.  He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.

Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not look to the proud, to those who turn aside to false gods.

Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done.  The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.

Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but my ears you have pierced; burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.  Then I said, "Here I am, I have come - it is written about me in the scroll.  I desire to do your will, O my God; Your law is within my heart."
Psalm 40:1-7

No matter how hard our circumstances can become in life, God sees it all, knows it all and is above it all and HE lives in His children!  If God were to correct our circumstances, even one minute before His perfect time, we would miss His absolute best for us, and most of all, we would miss our opportunity to trust Him and know Him during the hard times.  Sometimes God calls us to simply KNOW Him above all else, which is the sweetest calling of all - but we must Stop, be Still, Listen and Receive Him.  Then, no matter what our situation, we have experienced HIM - the Peace that passes understanding and the Joy beyond all circumstantial happiness.

God bless your day,

Lynne :)

*Happy New Year and New You*

It's New Year's Eve
and
we ARE a new creation in Christ.
The old has gone, the new has come! 2 Conrinthians 5:1.
What better point to dwell on than this for the New Year!
No matter what we have going on in our lives, God is more than able,
through Christ in us.

Jesus said, "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full,"
 John 10:10.

So........

The Joy of Now

Living 100% in THIS moment gives God full opportunity to prepare us for the next.  Living ahead of this moment, interferes with God's working in us and distracts us from the joy of NOW.

Have a blessed NOW :D

Light's Opportunity

And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary.
Galatians 6:9

There are days that are harder than others.  Sometimes we lose heart and energy.  But, as we continue to press on, doing what we do for the Lord, not ourselves, He will rejuvenate us.  Life is short here on earth, so every single moment of every day is an opportunity to let God reign in us, so that others might see Him - especially when times are tough.  What better opportunity and time to let God show His peace and trust to a world who needs Him?  It's those tough times that are special, because that is when God's light can stand out in a crowd of darkness!

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men....
Galatians. 6:10

"YOU are a light to the world.  A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5: 14,16

Have a blessed day everyone :)
